Yarning Circle
Yarning circles are a culturally grounded practice among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples for sharing stories, knowledge, and decision making. They create safe, egalitarian spaces where everyone is heard without interruption, building trust, respect, and collective understanding. Guided by protocols and deep listening, yarning strengthens relationships, preserves oral histories, and supports healing and wellbeing.
Yarning Circles ensure culturally appropriate engagement, empower participants, and surface local priorities. They emphasise connection to Country, kinship, and continuity, while allowing contemporary issues to be explored collaboratively. Ultimately, Yarning Circles centre voice, reciprocity, responsibility, and community-led solutions.

Structured Meeting
Structured meeting is an activity run by our facilitators. This meeting is a vital aspect of the P.E.E.R. Connect, and it serves as a friendly platform that connects young people with individuals who are in the same age group. These meetings are designed to be interactive and give young people a sense of belonging within their cohort. With a maximum group size of 12, these meetings allow for meaningful and personal connections to be formed.
The aim of these meetings/workshops goes beyond just socialising and making friends. They also provide a safe space for young people to discuss and address various issues that may be causing suffering, misfortune, disability, or distress. Through these meetings, young people can find support and resources that can help them to overcome their struggles, change distorted thinking, and improve their well-being.
